Clan Aran sweater and Christmas greetings

It's been so long since I last posted to my blog. Life got in the way as it does for so many of us! But that's not an excuse, and I'm really making it a 2007 resolution to do better. I think the sharing aspect of blogging is very important, but it's also a journal for me to remember what I was doing and when.

Every year I make my own Christmas cards. I begin with a photo I like, pull it into Photoshop, and go from there. Here's my 2006 card to share with you.

It seems like a long time ago that I posted a picture of the draft for a shawl I was going to weave. Would you believe that it's been beamed for at least four months, but not threaded. I've been slowly painting my studio, and for now the loom is covered. The studio is so full of "stuff" that I can only do one wall at a time. Take down yarns and stuff, take down shelves, paint, put back up - at least that's the way it's supposed to go! Instead we've done two walls, and the rest of the space is literally filled with boxes. After we come back from visiting grandkids over Christmas we'll clear the third wall and get it painted. Then everything goes back up before the fourth wall which has the bookcases and computer desk on it. Ugh! But, ...... it really does look good. Kind of a warm pumpkin color.

My Walsh sweater from the Clan Aran site is progressing sloowwwwly. But, Christmas travel will make a big impact on progress. I'm only a few rows away from beginning the bottom ribbing. Then I can finish the sleeves which are stubbed off right now. My goal is to have it finished to take skiing with us the third week of January. Do you think I'll make it???? And I really want to begin another one. These are addicting! My husband has been teasing me that I don't need to do any weight training while working on this. It's so heavy!!! Here it is:

Happy holidays, however you celebrate, and I'll see you in 2007!
