I have to heartily recommend The Red Tent by Anita Diamant. Not only is it a "can't put down" read, but spinning is mentioned throughout the book! The story is of Dinah, daughter of Jacob and Leah. Diamant tells it with the voice of Dinah, and notes that the women of the Bible are silent. She gives them voice. And, oh, what voices!
