Happy Fourth of July to those in the United States who are celebrating our independence.
We were away camping for ten days on the coolest and wettest trip we've taken in a long time. We've never taken down such a wet camp! When the tent was rolled, water just poured out! Today we've spent all day hosing off the sand and slime and drying things out. We're ready for our next trip.
It wasn't all bad, though. We have some wonderful memories, even if I didn't get a lot of pictures. Here are a few:
Our camp in the woods.
The hummer was there before we filled his feeder!
The view down the lake in early evening.
And my special shot! A spider had made a web between our dining fly and a pole. The next morning there were water droplets on it, almost like beads and lace. I consider this a coup!
There was one evening when we put our canoe in the water at about 8:15 pm, paddled out a way, and looked back to see that there was a rainbow over the entire campground. We heard loons call, the duck wandered through our camp, chipmunks had races, DH caught a beautiful rainbow trout (which we ate!), and our two granddaughters waded through the flooded camp to come visiting with us. It was really a restful trip, except for the rain.
Since we've been home the rains have continued. Yesterday immediately after a rain shower I took my camera outside. I love pictures with raindrops. So, here's this week's contribution:
